Oregon has a world-class telecommunications infrastructure extending throughout much of the state. Multiple fiber optic backbone networks with diverse routing provide excellent network reliability and connectivity. Yet there is still a digital divide which is why the Oregon Broadband Office is applying for federal grants to fund deployment of reliable high-speed internet, devices, and training to those who need it.
ARPA CPF Broadband Deployment Program Now Accepting Applications
The Broadband Deployment Program (BDP) application portal is open and accepting applications beginning March 25, 2024. The application period will close on April 25, 2024.

Oregon Broadband Advisory Council (OBAC)
The Oregon Broadband Advisory Council (OBAC) was created in the 2009 Legislative session and was approved on March 23, 2022, which modified the composition and duties of the council in preparation for historic federal broadband investment. Some of the modifications include new representation for rural businesses, urban businesses, telehealth, and digital equity interests of historically disadvantaged communities.
